To celebrate the publication of “Impersonators Anonymous,” my new novel about the lost James Dean/ John Wayne movie, Linda and I didn’t have a book launch party. We didn’t ask a friend to throw one. It’s a little hard to read to an audience who would … probably rather be anywhere else.
Instead, we celebrated by going out to the wonderful old Hollywood restaurant, Yamashiro. It has spectacular views of Hollywood. And with a little neck craning, you can even see the Hollywood sign and the observatory–where James Dean and the others filmed several scenes from “Rebel Without a Cause.” (Neither of those landmarks is it in the background of the very short video attached.)
